is it possible to cover a avg cost of living by part time job by student, fees will be mange by parents.
I happened to come across this video on YT and I was amazed that I had never seen this since I am about to start my last year in the same program that Zoe and Emilio are in! (They are great students by the way, but a year after me) I also did a year of Sensor Technology (or ST, slightly different than Navod's program) at Hanze before switching to Mechanical Engineering so I thought I'd add a few bits of information: 1. I'm guess the place Navod is speaking of towards the end of the video is the city of Assen where Hanze has many facilities for Electrical Engineering students. While I have personally never been to those facilities since I switched before ST courses would be held there, it is only half an hour away by train from Groningen. 2. The Mechanical Engineering field is so vast that the program for it has to start with some groundwork in the first year, but starting from the second year (particularly the 4th semester), students get to choose their own projects, their own course (labeled as "electives"), and their 3rd and final year is basically a "go out there and do whatever engineering work you want to do and want to learn from, know that you have teachers here as support" situation with your choice of internship or minor (which actually can be from outside of Hanze and/or even engineering) and finally your graduation project. So while the program doesn't allow you to change specializations per se (like Navod's does), you can customize the program to be a specific type of Mechanical Engineering overlapping with many fields such as Medical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronics, Sustainability, Renewable Energy, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and many others. 3. An amazing aspect of studying in the Netherlands (or at least my experience at Hanze) is that you can balance your studies with other interests to the degree that YOU want and like. So if you'd rather go 30 to 40 percent studying and the rest spent on other things, whether socializing, doing sports, doing something artistic, picking up new skills, or just enjoying life as you see fit, that is as viable as spending 80 percent of your time on your studies; the key however is commitment! If you only want to study for 5 hours per week, you probably won't be getting 9 or 10 on your grades, but as long as those 5 hours are consistent, productive, and free of distractions, you will see good results and notice that not only are you learning the principles and skills necessary to become an engineer at Hanze, but also the way you perceive the world changes and you see new possibilities for application of your new knowledge all around in the real world!
To clarify, Zoe mentions at 25:07 that the Makerspace only has 3d printers and lasercutters and that the mechanical lab has a lot more "serious" tools, but let's not forget that the Makerspace also have drills, hand tools, lathes, and a bunch of other heavy machinery outside of just 3d printers and laser-cutters.
Wow! Bravo👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻excelente podcast con excelentes alumnos, mi hijo es Emilio (mamá 🦚 como decimos en México) felices con la Universidad de Hanze!! Felicidades!😊

@@firstnamelastname5616 I did apply though. Did you? How do you feel about the selection day?
@@dianapetrikova4180 I applied as well. I did all the tests they sent us, but I'm not sure what to expect on selection day. I read the pdf a lot to understand it properly. I'm not sure how to further prepare for the test. But it seems that it's gonna be all about the pdf and the lecture.

Yes, we play floorball in The Netherlands. As a student in Groningen you can join ACLO which offers lots of sports possibilities for a relatively small fee per year (see the link in the description). As a member of ACLO you can join floorball courses, reserve floorball courts and also join the student floorball club UC Face Off.
Thank you Cause I was wondering about the clubs
You guys play floorball in Netherlands? Any premises for that in your school?
Great videos. Looking forward to see the city. Greetings from Finland!
